Cambridge
is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in southeastern Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 11,129 residents. In 2010, Ohio Magazine named Cambridge "Best Hometown." The city has always been well-known for its' glass industry, especially among collectors. One of these companies, the Mosser Glass Company offers factory tours where you can watch workers heat glass to a molten glow, then pour it into molds for everything from Victorian glass cake stands to ornate lamp shades. Cambridge is also home to a museum that celebrates the Cambridge Glassware that was produced here from 1902 until the mid-1950s. In addition, Boyd's Crystal Art Glass offers tours of their factory where you may watch their artisans at work, and visit their factory outlet store. Other attractions include the town's famous "S" shaped bridges that date back to the Old National Road in 1828, and the Dickens Victorian Village. The latter features 186 mannequins in 80 scenes around town during the holiday season. The faces of the mannequins were sculpted and painted by local artists, and they wear clothing of the Victorian era. The Dickens Victorian Village is usually on display November through the first week of January. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to visit Kennedy's Cakes and Donuts while in Cambridge, which claims to be "Ohio's biggest bakery." Nearby is Salt Fork Park, which offers hiking, camping, swimming, boating and golf.

Southeast Ohio has a humid continental climate with four distinct seasons. This region is located in the unglaciated Allegheny Plateau, surrounded by hills and river valley. Summers in southeast Ohio are warm and humid. Temperatures are slightly warmer in this region than in northern Ohio, although milder in the eastern highlands. The growing season is also longer here than the rest of the state. More than half of the precipitation occurs from May to October. Winters in southern Ohio are cool to cold. Snowfall varies greatly year to year. Blizzards, ice storms and freezing rain are all a possibility. Spring has a mix of weather, from sunny and mild to cool and rainy. Autumn is the sunniest season of the year with mild days and crisp, cool evenings.
